Technology
One implant. Continuous brain data.
NVT BVS, short for Brain Vital Sign, is a small implant placed under the scalp that records the brain's electrical activity around the clock, through everyday life. Our first focus is epilepsy.
The device.
01 / 05
Under the scalp
Placed in a short procedure, just under the scalp and above the skull. Once healed, it cannot be seen.
How it works
01 IMPLANT
Placed sub‑scalp. Invisible from the outside.
A 15-minute outpatient procedure and a 2cm incision place the device just under the scalp, above the skull. It does not enter the skull, and once the site heals there is nothing to see.
02 STREAM
Recordings upload automatically. No patient action needed.
The device records continuously and sends its recordings on its own. Life carries on as normal, at home, at work, and in sleep.
03 ANALYZE
The platform reads and counts what the brain actually did, before the next visit.
The platform analyzes every recording and counts the events in it, including the ones no one was awake to notice. The count is ready before the next appointment.
04 ACT
Objective data in the clinician's hands, every appointment.
Instead of asking what the last months felt like, the clinician sees what actually happened: objective longitudinal information to inform treatment decisions.
Under the scalp
Placed once. Then out of sight.
The intelligence
From continuous EEG to clinical insight.
NVT transforms continuous brain activity into clinically meaningful trends using proprietary signal processing and clinician-guided AI. The platform is designed so clinicians can trace important findings back to the underlying physiological evidence.
The platform
One platform. Three vantage points.
For clinicians
“I cannot manage what I cannot measure.”
An objective record of what happened between visits.
- Today: patient report, then uncertainty, then a medication decision.
- With NeuroView: objective longitudinal EEG, seizure burden, and trend, then the decision.
- Clinically relevant events prioritized for review.
For patients
Know what is happening when you cannot know yourself.
- Were those episodes seizures? Are seizures happening in sleep?
- Did the medication change help? Is seizure frequency actually improving?
- What happened between visits?
- No headgear. No daily charging. No seizure diary. Nothing visible once healed.
For payers
Evidence built for review.
Objective evidence of what a monitoring program is doing.
- Findings designed to trace back to source recordings.
- Documentation shaped for prior authorization.
- Built on an emerging sub-scalp EEG reimbursement framework.
Frequently asked questions
How does NVT BVS work?
A thin device is placed under the scalp, above the skull, in a short procedure. It records the brain's electrical activity continuously and uploads those recordings on its own, so a count of how often seizures happened is ready before the next appointment.
Where is the device placed?
Sub-scalp, above the skull. It does not enter the skull or the brain, and once the site heals there is nothing to see from the outside.
Is brain surgery required?
No. The device is placed in a short outpatient procedure under local anesthesia, through a small incision, just under the scalp and above the skull. Nothing enters the skull or the brain.
How long does it stay in place?
A single implant is designed for about three years of recording.
How big is NVT BVS?
50 by 32 millimeters. A thin, gently curved wafer with two electrodes, shaped to sit flush against the head.
Does the patient have to do anything?
Very little. Recordings upload automatically, at home, at work, and in sleep. No headgear, no daily charging, and no seizure diary.
Is this the same as an EEG in hospital?
Like hospital EEG, NVT BVS records the brain’s electrical activity directly. Unlike conventional EEG, it is designed for continuous, long-term monitoring in everyday life.
